Ch 7 : Caring

For most of the night, Aarav lay still under the thin, pristine sheets of his perfectly made bed, breathing shallowly, eyes fixed on the ceiling. The air conditioner hummed steadily at twenty-four degrees, a soft mechanical lullaby that did nothing to quiet the chaos in his chest. Outside, Delhi's night was alive with distant traffic and the occasional barking dog, but inside his room, there was only silence.
